About The Position

Provides direct and indirect patient care under the guidance and direction of a Registered Nurse. Implements components of the plan of care based on patients’ physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs. Provides comfort, safety, and emergency measures, and assists with activities of daily living, including personal care, nutrition, and elimination needs. Measures vital signs, performs ECGs, and performs capillary blood glucose testing. Observes and reports equipment functioning, treatment results, dressing condition, and changes in patient condition. Incorporates the Hospital's Customer Service Program—including confidentiality, responsiveness, and caring—into patient care activities. Is accountable to the Nurse Manager or designee and adheres to department policies and procedures. If not certified at hire, the employee must successfully complete the onsite nursing certification program within 90 days of hire.
