About The Position
Avita Health System is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join their Emergency Department at the Ontario location. The PCA will meet the communication needs of patients, families, and staff, prepare and compile records, initiate directions from physicians and nursing staff, and provide basic nursing care to Emergency Department patients while maintaining regulatory agency requirements, nursing and facility policies and procedures, and standards.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Current BLS certification or within 30 days of hire date.
Nice To Haves
- STNA Certification or Paramedic or EMS Certification.
Responsibilities
- Meets the communication needs of the patient, family and staff.
- Prepares and compiles records in the facility.
- Initiates directions from physician and nursing staff.
- Provides basic nursing care to Emergency Department patients.
- Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and facility policies and procedures and standards.
