About The Position

This is a Full-time position in the Medical Surgical Department, working 12-hour shifts. The role involves assisting patients with daily living activities, mobility, feeding, taking vital signs, observing and reporting changes in patient condition, assisting with wound care, stocking supplies, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and transporting patients within the hospital.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Current Certification in Patient Care required (M.A. / CNA / EMT / Paramedic / Patient Care Tech, etc.).
Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current
Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.

Nice To Haves

Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate upon hire and maintain current
Six months previous experience as Monitor Technician, preferred.
Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office, preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, and toileting
Help with mobility, including turning, repositioning, and transferring patients to prevent skin breakdown
Feed patients who need assistance and monitor intake/output
Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration)
Observe and report changes in a patient’s condition to nurses
Help with wound care under the direction of an RN
Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms
Ensure the environment stays clean and safe
Assist in transporting patients within the hospital
