About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant II helps patients feel safe and comfortable by assisting with basic daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding. The role directly supports nursing staff by monitoring vital signs and preparing patient rooms. The successful candidate is diligent, observant of changes in patients’ conditions, and receptive to coaching.
Requirements
- High school graduate in General Studies, upon hire, or a GED in General Studies, upon hire.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing or one year of direct patient care experience, upon hire.
- Basic Life Support (CPR) certification within 14 days.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care as delegated by RN staff.
- Monitor and record vital signs.
- Assist with personal hygiene and physical care needs.
- Accurately measure, record, and report intake and output.
- Obtain and record daily weight.
- Perform blood glucose testing using a blood glucose meter.
