Requirements
- Certificate Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1 year Nursing Assistant
Responsibilities
- Provides assistance to professional staff in completion of patient-related tasks which include but are not limited to a) Assist patients with ADL's; b) Assist patients with their exercise (rehab); c) Assist staff to maintain a safe, clean environment on the IPU.
- Takes primary responsibility for tracking patient equipment.
- Maintains a safe environment by following safety standard policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates ability to set up overhead frame on beds and cribs.
- Familiar with traction setups commonly used on IPU.
- Demonstrates ability to perform clinical skills taught during the current year. These include but are not limited to: temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, cast care, bladder scanning, dipstick, and guaiac testing.
- Understands the importance of providing quality service to patients, coworkers and the public.
- Strives to exceed expectations through the application of good customer service skills, both internally and externally.
- Demonstrates proper body mechanics when lifting/transferring patients and/or equipment without injury.
