About The Position

The Patient Care Advocate provides courteous, attentive customer service to internal and external customers in an outpatient imaging setting. The role welcomes patients and visitors, identifies the purpose of their visit, and provides accurate information about exams and procedures, including preparation instructions. The advocate prepares, processes, and maintains confidential patient records; verifies patient identity; retrieves and processes current insurance information; and checks exam authorization during check-in and billing processes. This is a full-time, on-site position in Round Rock, Texas, serving the Greater Austin area.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with a pleasant and professional demeanor.
• Ability to communicate clearly and tactfully, verbally and in writing, and to motivate others.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of medical reception tasks, clinic procedures, medical terminology, and paperwork processing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors, determine the nature of their visit, and provide accurate, appropriate information.
• Provide information about exams and procedures, including preparation instructions.
• Prepare, process, and maintain confidential records for new and existing patients.
• Verify patient identity, retrieve and process current patient insurance information, and check exam authorization during check-in and billing.
