The Patient Benefits & Enrollment Specialist will be part of a collaborative team that works to achieve high levels of patient insurance alignment and retention.

Requirements

  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Experience in utilizing a computer and experience in Microsoft Office products is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • One year of experience in the healthcare field is preferred.
  • Associate degree, some college, or bachelor’s degree a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with Medicaid, Marketplace, Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and Sliding Fee Scale applications, including education, accuracy review, and authorized‑representative submissions.
  • Schedule and manage enrollment/eligibility appointments; handle Patient Benefit Line inquiries; complete insurance verification and resolve coverage issues.
  • Conduct outreach via phone, Epic in‑basket, email, and Artera texting to support MCO alignment, Medicaid renewals, and re‑engagement in primary care.
  • Document all patient interactions in Epic, close communication loops, escalate systemic issues, and collaborate with internal teams.
  • Maintain required certifications, stay current on public coverage rules, protect PHI, and participate in meetings and events as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
