About The Position

The Patient Attendant is responsible for supporting patient care activities in their work area including: assisting in the movement and transportation of patients; cleaning equipment and work areas; maintaining equipment and handling of sterile items. This is a temporary, full-time, long-assignment position within the Operating Rooms.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Current certification in CPR
• Current certification in WHIMIS
• Must be able to respond quickly to unexpected situations and work effectively in emergency situations
• Ability to lift and move patients using proper body mechanics and/or lifting devices
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team, with highly developed interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

• Previous Patient Attendant experience
• Previous experience working in OR environment
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
