About The Position
This role is for a Patient Attendant in the Behavioral Health Sitter department at Ascension Saint Joseph in Chicago, IL. The position is part-time, working night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am. The salary ranges from $18.67 to $21.90 per hour. The primary responsibility is to remain at the bedside of the assigned patient at all times, unless relieved by appropriate staff. The attendant will assist in calming or reorienting patients experiencing agitation or confusion, remove hazards from the environment, and record all observations.
Requirements
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Certification specializing in Crisis Prevention credentialed from the Crisis Prevention Institute(CPI) preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Previous hospital experience HIGHLY preferred
Responsibilities
- Remain at bedside of assigned patient at all times unless relieved by an appropriate staff member.
- Assist in calming and/or reorienting patient in cases of agitation or confusion.
- Remove visible hazards and/or broken equipment from immediate environment and reports as appropriate.
- Record all observations.
