About The Position
Thomson-Hood Veterans Center is a 285-bed long-term care facility that has served more than 2,782 Veterans from all branches of the armed forces since admitting the first resident on August 25, 1991. Thomson-Hood is the largest facility operated by the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs. We are looking for a self-motivated, energetic Patient Aide I who possesses the desire to care for Kentucky’s Veterans. Thomson-Hood Veterans Center is a skilled nursing facility that cares for the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Veterans. Our mission is to serve Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills
Responsibilities
- Make beds, pass ice and snacks
- Transports residents
- Escorts residents to and from medical appointments
- Pass towels and washcloths
- Train to assist with feeding and tray set up in dining room
- Learn the dietary needs of the residents to prepare tickets for meals
- Perform the cleaning of the ice machines, wheelchairs, and refrigerator
- Assist with the resident laundry, stock gloves and other resident supplies as needed in the resident rooms
