Patient Advocate

About The Position

This position requires a thorough understanding of the facility’s treatment program and philosophy. The Patient Advocate must have the ability to coordinate and supervise calls/emails from current patients' families/loved ones. They need to understand the patient experience at Wilmington and be able to describe it to family members.

Requirements

  • High school graduate with college degree preferred.
  • One-year experience in the substance abuse field.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work with male and female, adult (18-over) substance abuse/dually diagnosed population.

  • College degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary link between current patient families/loved ones and the clinical, nursing, and medical staff.
  • Be friendly and helpful on all phone calls with family and loved ones of current patients.
  • Be resolution-driven with great follow-through.
  • Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
