About The Position

The Patient Advocate (Bilingual English/Spanish) will be stationed at our location at Plaza del Sol Health Center in Corona, Queens and serve as a resource for patients in our care. The Patient Advocate uses feedback from patients in order to enhance the quality of services in the center and provides the patient with a warm and welcoming environment, while supporting them to navigate the health center. Applicants must have availability to commit to a schedule of 40 hours/week, Monday through Thursday 7:30am-5pm, Saturdays 7:00 am-1:30pm (days off are Fridays and Sundays).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English, required.
  • General computer skills
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills (verbally and written).

Responsibilities

  • Greets all patients and visitors to the site to support them with their visit and/or to identify purpose of arrival to the health center.
  • Directs patients into waiting area.
  • Manages sign in logs and ensures that the lobby area is maintained in a clean, orderly, and safe environment.
  • Helps to verify patient demographic information and insurances using electronic health records.
  • Provides general information regarding services and resources.
  • When applicable, gauges feedback from patients and reports to managers in order to optimize patient satisfaction.
