The Patient Advocate Specialist's primary goal is to successfully resolve account balances for medical services provided by multiple healthcare facilities to patients. This is achieved by contacting patients via telephone to screen them for eligibility for state, county, and federal assistance programs. The role involves assisting patients with applications for appropriate programs, providing detailed instructions, and ensuring all deadlines are met. Accurate documentation in the CUBS system is crucial, and maintaining positive patient relationships throughout the process is essential. The specialist will assess application progress, contact government agencies when necessary, and follow up on assigned accounts until benefits are secured or the patient is approved and billing information is obtained. Additional duties include maintaining good working relationships with agencies, resolving accounts in a timely manner, meeting productivity goals, maintaining confidentiality, adhering to company policies, and participating in the Corporate Compliance Program.
