About The Position

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Unit Manager, the Patient Administrative Associate performs delegated functions as a member of a patient care team by providing administrative support and communicating with members of the health care team, patients and families. This role contributes to the successful operation of the work area and functions in accordance with all existing regulatory and hospital standards, policies and procedures. Hartford Hospital is a level-one trauma center and academic medical center, with substantial opportunities for professional experience and exposure. Center 10 is a 26 bed inpatient Telemetry Unit which is part of the Hartford HealthCare Heart & Vascular Institute at Hartford Hospital. On Center 10 we care for patients diagnosed with Arrhythmia disorders and Congestive Heart Failure. Other patients cared for on Center 10 include patients who are pre- operative open Heart Surgery; and other Cardiac patients requiring monitoring. The pace is professionally challenging and stimulating and a wonderful learning environment.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Perform basic Mathematics
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Ability to perform physical effort as specified by position physical requirements and occupational exposure form

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Hospital based or physician office work experience
  • Demonstrated competencies in a related health field at Hartford Hospital
  • CPR validation may be required within three months of hire depending upon work area specific requirement
