This role supports department operations by supervising and prioritizing staff work in the absence of the department leader. The Patient Accounts Specialist Senior will represent the department and attend meetings on behalf of leadership as needed. This position involves completing high-priority assignments and projects with accuracy and timeliness, preparing reports, and managing required documentation. The individual will maintain a working knowledge of all team functions to provide coverage when needed, and provide onboarding, training, and ongoing support to team members, offering feedback to leadership. Responsibilities also include responding to internal inquiries across the Medical Center, performing complex clerical and collections-related duties, handling patient accounts, and participating in team meetings to contribute to information sharing. The role assists with special projects and department initiatives, supports the resolution of escalated patient concerns and complaints, and organizes workload effectively to meet deadlines and performance expectations while maintaining established Business Office standards.
