About The Position

Foundations Minnesota is seeking a Patients Accounts Representative/Collector. The Patient Accounts Representative/Collector is responsible for the billing, follow-up, and collection of assigned patient accounts. The incumbent contacts patients, insurance companies and third-party payers in an effort to resolve all outstanding owed balances; works closely with collection agencies for bad debt recovery; maintains third-party logs; and may code receivables from patients insurance companies and third-party payors on patient accounts.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• A minimum of one (1) years’ experience in health care collections or related field, or any combination of education, training, or experience in a health care business office environment.
• Experience with insurance billing, computer and business software programs (Excel) preferred.
• May be required to work flexible hours and occasional overtime.
• Knows and understands Minnesota Statutes Chapters 245G, 260E (Child Maltreatment), and 245A, 626.557 and 626.5572 (Vulnerable Adults).
• Thorough knowledge of CARF, state and federal regulatory requirements.
