About The Position

EVMS Medical Group at Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University is seeking an outstanding Patient Account Specialist to join the team. The responsibilities of this position included reviewing charges and documentation for appropriate ICD 10 and CPT/HCPCS coding for accuracy to maximize reimbursement. Manually posting charges not generated in EPIC. Reconciling ACC and Inpatient charges to ensure all charges captured. Working closely with providers and clinical staff regarding charge and billing issues.

Requirements

• Experience in ICD 10 and CPT/HVPCS coding, knowledge of carrier rules and regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Current CPC Certification
• one year relevant experience in a medical billing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and resolve coding and billing tasks assigned in EPIC work queues on a daily basis.
• Review clinical documentation for compliance to ensure accurate and timely charge capture.
• Reconcile ACC and inpatient charges against rounding schedule to ensure charges are captured.
• Manually post charges rendered at non EPIC facilities and no shows.
• Identifies billing trends and issues and communicates to clinical departments making recommendations to improve charge capture processes and increase revenue.
