About The Position

Assists in monitoring billing related functions are performed in an efficient manner consistent with department policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of revenue cycle processes, including denial management and follow-up.
  • Extensive knowledge of Workers' Compensation laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Proficient understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding, with an emphasis on Workers' Compensation coding requirements.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.
  • Epic experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Epic HB/PB strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve complex Workers' Compensation billing situations, denials, and payment discrepancies.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive appeals for denied or underpaid claims, including drafting compelling appeal letters.
  • Conduct thorough follow-up on outstanding Workers' Compensation accounts receivable with payers, adjusters, and legal representatives.
  • Manage high-volume work queues, prioritize tasks effectively, and consistently meet strict deadlines.
  • Analyzes Workers' Compensation fee schedules and reimbursement payment terms, identifying discrepancies and ensuring accurate expected payments.
