The Patient Account Representative is responsible for collections, account follow up, and billing allowance posting for assigned accounts. This role involves interacting with payers to ensure timely resolution of outstanding claims, accurately updating patient and financial information, and verifying billing accuracy. The representative will monitor various aspects of billing, including Medicaid/healthy options coupons and hospital services, ensuring they are processed within expected timeframes. A key part of the role is to identify and report underpayments and denial trends, analyze and resolve issues causing payment delays, and initiate appeals when necessary. The position requires maintaining daily productivity and quality standards, acting professionally with patients, payers, and colleagues, and upholding strict confidentiality regarding patient information in compliance with HIPAA standards.
