About The Position

The Patient Account Representative position is responsible for taking incoming and making outgoing calls to patients and insurance companies to resolve account balances. Essential duties include account review, customer service, and billing. Positions will perform all related duties assigned. This job operates in a clerical office setting.

Requirements

Ability to operate basic office equipment and multi-line telephone system.
General understanding of professional fee billing processes and procedures.
Proficient in analyzing statistical data.
Dependability in both production and attendance
attention to detail.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Good organizational, analytical and time management skills
Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and decision-making skills.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with providers, staff and the public.
Maintains strict confidentiality, adhering to all HIPAA guidelines.
Must have access to fast access internet

Nice To Haves

1-to 2 years of Medical Reception, Medical Billing/coding, or High-Volume Call experience is preferred

Responsibilities

Complete all business-related requests and correspondence from patients and insurance companies.
Complete all assigned projects in a timely manner.
Assist clients and patients in all requested tasks.
Communicate with management, areas of concern or areas of improvement.
Performs various collection actions including the following and reporting of delinquent accounts to the collection agency.
Posts payments and prepares daily deposit.
Research and respond to all patient inquiries received by telephone and mail.
Update patient demographic information and initiate account adjustments.
Try to resolve account balances to zero prior to accounts being forwarded to an outside agency for collections.
Other duties as assigned.
