Join our team as a Patient Account Representative I, where you’ll play a critical role in resolving denied and underpaid claims, navigating payer portals, and ensuring accurate reimbursement—all while working Monday through Friday with no nights, weekends, or on‑call requirements. This role is ideal for someone who is experienced with working denials through resolution and partnering with payers to drive results. If you’re detail‑oriented, comfortable working independently in a remote environment, and bring hands‑on insurance follow‑up experience (beyond customer service), this is a great opportunity to put your skills to work in a meaningful, patient‑focused setting. Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Job Summary: Responsible for processing patient accounts. Duties may include one or more of the following: processing insurance payments, following up on denied claims, and resolving credit balances. Typically works in no more than two functional areas.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
  • Insurance follow-up and experience with insurance payor portals strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with Excel and Word

Responsibilities

  • Processes the insurance component of a patient's obligation using the third party claims processing and payment rules.
  • Bills claims appropriately.
  • Follows up on denied claims by performing appeals and denial recovery procedures.
  • Works denied claim lines and no response claims to resolve outstanding accounts.
  • Analyzes credit balances on patient accounts and resolves.
  • Responds to refund request letters from insurance carriers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
