About The Position
The Patient Account Registrar is responsible for interviewing patients or authorized representatives to gather accurate demographic and insurance information. This role involves verifying insurance eligibility, benefits, and required authorizations, as well as entering and retrieving patient data using computerized systems. The registrar must communicate clearly with patients using age-appropriate techniques across all life stages and support Admitting department operations, including reception, PBX functions, and special assignments.
Requirements
- Customer Services experience required
- High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires)
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
Nice To Haves
- Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
