About The Position

This role is responsible for managing vehicle traffic in the hospital's drop-off and pick-up area, ensuring smooth operations and a welcoming entrance. The attendant will assist patients and visitors with directions and inquiries, provide wheelchair assistance, and coordinate with the transport team. Maintaining a safe, organized, and professional environment is key, including crowd control and clear access for emergency vehicles. Effective communication with various hospital teams and prompt reporting of any issues are also essential.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in English
  • Ability to effectively maneuver around various locations both inside and outside while engaging in bending, prolonged standing, running, and prolonged sitting in all weather conditions
  • Ability to receive medical and security clearance for one or more locations
  • Possess the manual dexterity to operate essential office equipment, including computers and cash registers.
  • Possess the mental acuity to be able to process cash and manual transactions.
  • Strong sense of customer service
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and push a minimum of 200 pounds
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be able and willing to smile during every customer interaction.
  • Maintain uniform standards while around the account.
  • Ability to create relationships with customers
  • Organization and strong problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage vehicle traffic in the hospital drop-off and pick-up area.
  • Ensure vehicles do not remain parked or stopped in the loading zone for extended periods.
  • Assist patients and visitors with general questions regarding hospital locations, departments, and directions.
  • Provide wheelchairs to patients arriving at the entrance when needed.
  • Contact and coordinate with the transport team for patient assistance and escorts.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming entrance area.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, visitors, staff, valet, and security teams.
  • Assist with crowd control and maintain clear access for emergency and hospital vehicles.
  • Report any concerns, incidents, or safety issues to supervisors promptly.
