Patient Access Team Lead
About The Position
R1 is seeking a Patient Access Team Lead to lead a team of Patient Access Representatives at Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford. This is a great opportunity for someone with leadership experience who enjoys coaching teams, improving operations, and creating a positive experience for patients. As a Team Lead, you'll oversee registration, scheduling, and front-end revenue cycle activities while serving as a key partner to hospital leadership, physicians, nurses, and support staff. You'll play an important role in keeping daily operations running smoothly, supporting team performance, monitoring workflows, and ensuring patients receive excellent service from the moment they arrive.
Requirements
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Communicates effectively with patients, staff, and leadership
- Comfortable navigating multiple computer systems
- Enjoys solving problems and supporting others
Nice To Haves
- Healthcare, Patient Access, registration, admissions, scheduling, insurance verification, revenue cycle, or customer service experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the daily activities of the Patient Access team
- Coach and mentor team members while helping drive engagement and performance
- Monitor productivity, staffing, quality, and operational metrics
- Partner with hospital leadership to identify opportunities for improvement
- Support registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and patient intake workflows
- Serve as a liaison between clinical and administrative teams
- Assist with reporting, compliance, and other operational initiatives
