About The Position

Baptist Medical Center Metro Square is currently hiring for a Full-Time Days Patient Access Supervisor to join our Total Access Program Department at our Baptist Southbank Plaza location in Jacksonville, FL. The Patient Access Supervisor oversees and supports daily activities of the Patient Access areas. Prepares work schedules, timekeeping, computes and records daily staff productivities, analyzes procedures in regards to improving service excellence and departmental efficiency. The supervisor works PAS reports, measuring quality registrations to ensure maximum reimbursement. Also works closely with management in reference to annual performance evaluations, interviewing and disciplinary counseling. Responsible to perform in all areas in providing coverage as needed. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication and customer service, and strong analytical skills. They must also be able to accurately complete verification of insurance benefits and authorizations using online tools and/or direct contact with insurance carrier. Patients should be registered in a timely, accurate, and professional manner which reflects the core values of Baptist Health.

Responsibilities

  • Registers patients accurately and efficiently.
  • Utilization of multiple systems and interfaces.
  • Cross-Trained in order to work in multiple patient access areas.
  • Maintains service excellence to patients and visitors for face-to-face and telephonic encounters.
  • Contributes to PAS Goals as defined annually (Collections, Palm Scanning, etc.).
  • Possesses a strong understanding and able to explain State and Federal regulations including EMTALA, AHCA, and JCAHO.
  • Maintains a professional relationship with all clinical and non-clinical team members including peer leaders in other departments.
  • Able to articulate compliance documentation and ensure completion of required patient consent forms.
  • Maintains patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Assists in the On-Call rotation for the assigned area including staffing as needed.
  • Provides daily leadership to the assigned department in coordination with the PAS Manager.
