About The Position

The Patient Access Supervisor will oversee daily activities of the Patient Access areas, focusing on service excellence and departmental efficiency. This role involves preparing work schedules, managing timekeeping, tracking staff productivity, and analyzing procedures to improve operations. The supervisor will also work with PAS reports to ensure quality registrations for maximum reimbursement, collaborate with management on performance evaluations, interviewing, and disciplinary actions, and provide coverage in all areas as needed. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, customer service, and analytical skills, with the ability to accurately verify insurance benefits and authorizations. Patients must be registered in a timely, accurate, and professional manner, upholding Baptist Health's core values.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Registers patients accurately and efficiently.
  • Utilization of multiple systems and interfaces.
  • Cross-Trained in order to work in multiple patient access areas.
  • Maintains service excellence to patients and visitors for face-to-face and telephonic encounters.
  • Contributes to PAS Goals as defined annually (Collections, Palm Scanning, etc.).
  • Possesses a strong understanding and able to explain State and Federal regulations including EMTALA, AHCA, and JCAHO.
  • Maintains a professional relationship with all clinical and non-clinical team members including peer leaders in other departments.
  • Able to articulate compliance documentation and ensure completion of required patient consent forms.
  • Maintains patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Assists in the On-Call rotation for the assigned area including staffing as needed.
  • Provides daily leadership to the assigned department in coordination with the PAS Manager.
