About The Position

Patient Access Specialists provide hospital personnel, patients, and their families with a seamless and efficient registration experience, including scheduling patient appointments. They verify eligibility for insurance and other forms of reimbursement and collect money due at the point of service. Staff receive cross-functional training to support all areas of registration. Specialists assigned to the Patient Contact Center may be trained and required to work as switchboard operators. They perform all other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provide an efficient registration experience for hospital personnel, patients, and their families.
• Schedule patient appointments.
• Verify eligibility for insurance and other forms of reimbursement.
• Collect money due at the point of service.
• Support all areas of registration through cross-functional training.
• For Patient Contact Center assignments, work as a switchboard operator when trained and required.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
