About The Position

The Patient Access Representative is responsible for providing excellent customer service to patients, listening and appropriately serving patients. This role contributes to an overall positive work atmosphere through actions and attitude. The representative will relay relevant information to the appropriate internal staff, follow practice procedures for appointment entry, check-in and/or check-out processes, and participate in office meetings and educational activities. The position requires maintaining a neat and orderly work area and complying with HIPAA procedures. The role involves training in all areas including Check in/out, Chart Auditing, and Call Center functions. Travel to all OTX locations is required, as is cross-training in different Patient Access functions. This is not a summer-only job.

Requirements

  • Must have prior experience in Healthcare.
  • Ability to work Plano and Frisco locations occasionally.
  • Travel to all OTX locations is required.
  • Cross-Training in different Patient Access functions is required.
  • High School Diploma, or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience, and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to work 10-7 shift at least 2x per week.
  • Must be able to work 7am - 4pm shift at least 2 x per week (variable Mon through Thurs).

Responsibilities

  • Train in all areas: Check in/out, Chart Auditing, Call Center functions.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients by listening and appropriately serving patients.
