About The Position

Our patients are our number one priority! We're committed to giving children back their childhood! This role is located in Frisco at the Ambulatory Surgical Center and operates Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. The Patient Access Representative is responsible for various administrative and patient-facing duties to ensure a smooth patient experience.

Requirements

High school degree or equivalent required.
A minimum typing speed of 35 wpm required.
Ability to manage a multi-line phone system and headset needed.
Demonstrates basic knowledge of child development in order to communicate effectively with infant, toddler, preschool, school age and adolescent children as well as their families and adults.
Good computer and public relations skills needed.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree in Secretarial Science or related field preferred.
Knowledge of hospital/clinic routine or previous medical receptionist experience helpful.

Responsibilities

Pre-registration and full registration of patients.
Obtaining Scottish Rite consent paperwork and notifying patients of patient rights and privacy notices.
Collecting identification, guarantor information, and insurance coverages.
Verifying insurance information.
Collecting co-payments for services rendered.
Managing the patient intake/referral process and scheduling new patients for some cases.
Scheduling follow-up appointments and coordinating with the clinical team.
Managing incoming calls, including messages, transfers, and scheduling.
Obtaining and managing referrals.
Managing and distributing all incoming departmental faxes.
Scanning clinical record information and correspondence into the EPIC medical record.
Working closely with the Patient Access Representative Lead on any issues or patient complaints.
