About The Position

The Patient Access Representative will represent the Center for Orthopaedics in a courteous and efficient manner. This role involves greeting patients, calculating amounts owed, collecting payments, and scheduling appointments. The representative will also direct patients to other departments for services like Radiology and blood work, while respecting patient privacy and dignity. All other tasks assigned by the manager are also part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

• Ability to greet patients in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Ability to monitor charts for balances or delinquent payments.
• Ability to calculate patient payments based on insurance verification notes.
• Ability to collect appropriate payments from patients.
• Ability to schedule, cancel, and reschedule appointments.
• Ability to direct patients to appropriate departments.
• Ability to respect and maintain patient privacy and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Greet all patients in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Monitor charts for balances or delinquent payments while checking patients out.
• Calculate the patient's payment based on insurance verification notes.
• Collect the appropriate amount of money from each patient.
• Schedule, cancel, and reschedule appointments in accordance with doctors' instructions.
• Direct patients to the Imaging Center and Prepare Center for Radiology services and/or blood work.
• Respect and maintain the privacy and dignity of patients and family members.
• Perform all other tasks as assigned by manager.
