About The Position
Horn Memorial Hospital is hiring a full-time Patient Access Representative to work in the Emergency Department. This position is responsible for admitting patients to all levels of care, capturing necessary insurance and demographic information, and answering the hospital switchboard. The role operates Monday through Friday with overnight hours from 11 pm to 7 am, including holiday rotation and potential weekend shifts. A generous shift differential is provided for overnight work.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent required
- Experience in a medical setting preferred
- Good computer and communication skills
- Must be friendly and service-oriented
- Must pass a background check, health assessment including applicable vaccinations, and drug screen before hiring
Responsibilities
- Admit patients to all levels of care in the facility, including inpatients and outpatients
- Capture all insurance and patient demographic information for a complete registration
- Answer telephone at hospital switchboard and direct patients as needed
