Patient Access Representative (Part Time - Days) Lansdale
About The Position
The Patient Access Representative provides a positive experience for patients and families by using strong communication and customer service skills during registration. The representative accurately identifies patients, gathers complete demographic and insurance information, identifies uninsured patients for referral to Medical Assistance or Charity Care evaluation, retrieves orders, confirms medical necessity, and answers phones for outpatient visits. This is a part-time day position in Lansdale. Scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., and every fifth or sixth Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three years of customer service experience.

- Associate’s degree in Healthcare or Business Administration.
Responsibilities
- Interact with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with Jefferson’s values.
- Gather accurate demographic and insurance information.
- Request and scan photo IDs and insurance cards.
- Verify insurance coverage, referrals, and authorizations.
- Collect patients’ out-of-pocket liability at the time of service.
- Accurately search for and select the correct patient during registration.
- Identify uninsured patients for referral to Medical Assistance or Charity Care evaluation.
- Retrieve orders, confirm medical necessity, and answer phones for outpatient visits.
