Adventist Health Bakersfield is looking for a Patient Access Representative for a Full-time, Night Shift position. This role is based onsite in Bakersfield, CA. Requirements

High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
Must receive all required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable (medical and religious exemptions may apply).
Must acknowledge and understand the E-Verify Participation and Right to Work notices.

Responsibilities

Responsible for timely and accurate patient registration.
Interviews patients for all pertinent account information.
Verifies all insurance and calculates and collects patient liability amounts.
Ensures that all necessary signatures are obtained for treatment.
Answers any questions and explains policies clearly.
Checks for physician orders and attaches them to the appropriate patient record to ensure the correct test is received.
Prints and collates any paperwork needed for each patient for distribution to the unit/department.
Escorts patients to their area or refers patients to an available escort as needed.
Checks for physician orders and attaches them to the patient medical record to ensure that patients are receiving appropriate tests.
Chooses the correct health plan and accurately researches to ensure accuracy when verifying insurance.
Enters all authorization information accurately as needed.
Follows guidelines and instructions from senior staff.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
