Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-year degree in related studies; and/or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum one year experience in a hospital or medical clinic setting or equivalent.
  • Experience in a customer service setting.
  • Experience with Microsoft products, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and appropriately schedules patients.
  • Confirms arrival time, appointment time, and any other applicable instructions.
  • Educates patients on any preparation and/or instructions needed prior to procedure.
  • Pre-registers patients by verifying demographics and insurance coverage.
  • Creates the Hospital Account Record (HAR).
  • Looks for existing orders and links them to appointments.
  • Monitors and schedules the Referral Workque’s as assigned.
  • Accurately and appropriately registers and checks in patients for their appointments.
  • Checks in patients for their appointments, completes all needed information and directs them to the appropriate location.
  • Provides appropriate forms as designated by clinical staff and/or standard practice.
  • Receives and enters appropriately all patient forms dropped off for completion.
  • Determines if the patient needs to be seen to complete the form, and/or have patient complete their portion of the forms.
  • Routes forms according to standard practice.
  • Collects and posts patient co-pays/deductibles/balances consistently and accurately.
  • Assists patients with any follow up appointments at check out.
