About The Position

This is a full-time position for a Patient Access Representative, also known as a Switchboard Operator. The role requires a high school education or equivalent and involves operating communication equipment, understanding the revenue cycle, and utilizing various software and computer applications. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for effectively representing the organization.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of multi-line consoles, base radios, and communication equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of the revenue cycle process.
  • Basic working knowledge of automated scheduling, registration, collections, and telecommunications applications.
  • Working knowledge of computers, software and hardware, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Technical ability to operate multi-line telephone consoles, printers, fax machines, eligibility software, and general office equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of base radio/emergency communications and multi-system alarm panels.
  • Good mental and physical health.
  • Good hearing and visual acuity.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operate multi-line telephone consoles, printers, fax machines, eligibility software, and general office equipment.
  • Utilize appropriate resources.
  • Effectively and professionally represent Indiana Regional Medical Center at all times.
  • Prioritize, multitask, problem-solve, and maintain composure in stressful situations.
