About The Position

The Patient Access Representative II registers patients accurately and efficiently, using multiple systems and interfaces. The role is cross-trained to work in multiple patient access areas and provides service to patients and visitors during face-to-face and telephone interactions. The representative contributes to annually defined PAS goals, maintains knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations, supports compliance documentation and required patient consent forms, and protects patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. The position is based at Baptist Health’s Beaches - Main Building in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of state and federal regulations, including EMTALA, AHCA, and JCAHO.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately and efficiently.
• Use multiple systems and interfaces.
• Work in multiple patient access areas through cross-training.
• Provide service excellence to patients and visitors during face-to-face and telephone encounters.
• Contribute to annually defined PAS goals, including collections and palm scanning.
• Maintain a professional relationship with clinical and non-clinical team members.
• Articulate compliance documentation requirements and ensure completion of required patient consent forms.
• Maintain patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
