About The Position

The Patient Access Representative II is responsible for creating the first impression of ECU Health’s services for patients, families, and other external customers. Essential duties may include scheduling, registration, and insurance verification for outpatient and inpatient services, collecting accurate demographic information, and securing authorizations for procedures. The representative serves as the primary liaison for patients receiving professional and hospital services at ECU Health.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) or higher.
• 1 to 2 years of registration and/or billing experience in a healthcare setting.
• 3 to 5 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication, attention to detail, organization, and multitasking skills.
• Insurance verification experience.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with EPIC and medical office workflows.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and PC-based applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
