Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
1+ years’ experience in a hospital or physician practice.
Understanding and use of Electronic Health Record (EMR) or other billing systems.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree.
Medical Office Administration Certification.

Responsibilities

Processes patient information required for admittance, dismissal, and claims management/insurance billing.
Reviews all upcoming patient appointments for insurance eligibility, referrals, and other issues that may impact reimbursement.
Listens, answers, and devotes full attention to patients, medical professionals, and supervisor questions.
Acts as a liaison with patients, referrals, general practitioners, health care professionals, and patients’ family members in a compassionate and kind manner.
Enters, maintains, and reports all patient information into the EMR system.
Answers inbound calls to the department.
