Get to Know Your Team: Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200+ employees and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1+ years of working in the medical/and or medical insurance fields.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent customer service skills and strong ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the liaison between Finance, Nursing, and Physician offices.
  • Obtains accurate demographic information, records, and verifies all pertinent information from insurance companies with respect to a patient’s authorization for services, eligibility, and benefits.
  • Registers patients for Family Practice Group and obtains accurate demographic and insurance information.
  • Handles main telephone lines for the Family Practice Group.
  • Provides patients with information required by federal mandates, i.e., Patient Rights and Responsibilities, and Advance Care Directives.
  • Obtains appropriate signatures and copies and/or scans all identification and healthcare coverage presented.
  • Communicates all information and financial responsibility to the patient/guarantor.
  • Completes registration forms, insurance forms, HMO referrals, processes medical record requests, and any other MFP office forms required by our patients.
  • Provides general non-clinical information regarding the Family Practice Group and gives necessary instructions prior to appointments.
  • Maintains confidentiality with all information.
