The Patient Access Registry Position requires knowledge of insurance basics, understanding of Advocate Health's contracted plans, and the ability to discuss financial obligations with patients. Additionally, the role ensures compliance with government regulations such as HIPAA, EMTALA, and others by obtaining necessary signatures. The position may also involve scheduling appointments, coordinating cancellations and reschedules, and providing detailed information to patients regarding preparations and directions. A key aspect of this role is creating a welcoming environment through exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries, answering the telephone, and offering assistance to patients. The role also involves monitoring and working assigned electronic health record work queues.
