About The Position
This full-time position involves patient registration, collection of copayments, and gathering all necessary patient demographic information. The role requires processing accurate demographic, insurance, and patient liability details. The role includes a two-week training/orientation period from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, which may involve training in Springfield, MA. The standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, with shifts rotating within the hours of 4:45 AM to 4 PM, primarily to accommodate early hours at surgical sites.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurances
Nice To Haves
- Patient access hospital experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the pre-registration process of patient admissions
- Obtain approvals and payments on site
- Explain insurance and private pay liabilities; appropriately refer patients requiring financial counseling
- Accurately enter/update all patient demographic information, including insurance and patient liability; post payments to appropriate screen and complete reconciliation reports
