About The Position
This full-time position in the Department of Registration involves collecting copayments and all patient demographic information. The role requires processing to obtain accurate demographic, insurance, and patient liability information. The training and orientation period is two weeks, Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. The regular shift is nights, 11 PM to 7:30 AM.
Requirements
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurances
Nice To Haves
- Patient access hospital experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the pre-registration process of patient admissions
- Obtain approvals and payments on site
- Explain insurance and private pay liabilities; appropriately refer patients requiring financial counseling
- Accurately enter/update all patient demographic information, including insurance and patient liability; post payments to appropriate screen and complete reconciliation reports
