About The Position

This position is a Revenue Cycle Specialist Front-End role, offering a $1,500 new hire sign-on bonus. The role involves patient registration, insurance verification, pre-registration, and point-of-service collections, ensuring accurate patient data and educating patients on financial responsibilities. It also includes financial counseling referrals, Medicare compliance, valuables management, morgue coordination, customer service, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with clinical and revenue cycle teams. This position requires on-site coverage at public arrival desks and the Emergency Department.

Requirements

  • Equal to completion of four years of high school plus additional courses or training.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills including medical based programs.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Medical Terminology Certificate preferred.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and other software programs preferred.
  • Over three years related health care experience including working with third party payers preferred.
  • CHAM (Certified Healthcare Access Manage) or CHAA (Certified Healthcare Access Associate) encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Handles patient registration, insurance verification, pre-registration, and point of service collections.
  • Ensures accurate patient data.
  • Educates patients on financial responsibilities.
  • Provides financial counseling referrals.
  • Manages Medicare compliance (IM and MOON forms).
  • Handles valuables management.
  • Coordinates morgue services.
  • Provides customer service.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborates with clinical and revenue cycle teams.
  • Provides on-site coverage at public arrival desks and the Emergency Department.
