About The Position

Baptist Health Medical Group is seeking a full-time Patient Access Coordinator for their Oncology department in the St. Matthews area. This first shift position is integral to ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience from registration through to payment collection. The role requires a strong commitment to Baptist Health's mission, vision, and values, emphasizing excellent customer service and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Demonstrates skill with all applicable access software systems.
Exhibits excellent customer service skills with patients, fellow employees, physicians and office staff.
Completes required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements.
Maintains all patients visit information within the system, updating as requested.
Demonstrates knowledge of the legal aspect of access services, including state and federal regulatory body requirements regarding access services

Responsibilities

Registers patients accurately and efficiently, collecting demographic and insurance information.
Manages patient flow, answers phones, and addresses inquiries.
Verifies patient eligibility, Medicare compliance, and benefits before appointments.
Utilizes applicable access software systems effectively.
Estimates patient financial responsibility and collects payments at the point of service, discussing payment expectations and plans with patients.
Pre-registers patients, engaging in meaningful discussions about benefits.
Provides excellent customer service to patients, colleagues, physicians, and office staff.
Performs other duties as assigned to maintain a high level of service.
Completes required continuous training and education.
Maintains and updates patient visit information within the system.
Demonstrates knowledge of legal aspects of access services and regulatory requirements.
