Supported by Panoramic Health, one of the nation's leading integrated nephrology platforms, our team provides specialized outpatient care and vascular access services in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. We are seeking a Per Diem Patient Access Coordinator to provide coverage support as needed during business hours. This role is ideal for an experienced healthcare administrative professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys being the central point of communication for patients, providers, and referral partners.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare office, medical practice, ambulatory surgery center, or medical billing environment required.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology.
  • Experience verifying insurance coverage with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payors.
  • Experience obtaining insurance referrals, prior authorizations, and pre-certifications.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with patients, providers, and referral sources.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee patient scheduling activities.
  • Answer incoming calls promptly and route them appropriately.
  • Maintain patient charts and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.
  • Obtain referrals, authorizations, and pre-certifications from insurance carriers.
  • Serve as a liaison between physicians, dialysis centers, hospitals, and referring facilities.
  • Ensure test results and clinical documentation are sent to referring providers as appropriate.
  • Coordinate dialysis treatments and related patient services.
  • Arrange transportation for patients when needed.
  • Perform administrative duties including filing, faxing, scanning, and document management.
  • Maintain office supply inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Support patient flow and communication throughout the care process.
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate in community outreach and educational activities as requested.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
