Patient Access Coordinator I
About The Position
Fairview Range is looking for a Patient Access Coordinator to join their care team at the Fairview Mesaba Clinic in Hibbing, MN. This role is responsible for performing registration and scheduling duties, along with necessary clerical or secretarial tasks. The ideal candidate will be adept at multitasking and possess excellent customer service skills. The position is full-time, working 72-80 hours per two weeks, with 8-hour day/evening shifts and weekend availability as needed. The primary work location is Hibbing, though the role is based in Mt. Iron and may provide coverage in Nashwauk and Mountain Iron.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Verifiable work experience with computers, typing, and telephone duties.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience in Registration and Scheduling
- Experience with insurance verification
- Understanding of various health insurance plans
- Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist
Responsibilities
- Greeting patients in a prompt and pleasant manner and directs them to the appropriate locations.
- Understanding HIPAA and recognizes the importance of PHI.
- Answering the phone in a courteous, efficient manner within an established timeframe.
- Collecting and verifies all patient data from patients and enter into the EMR accurately.
- Answering questions presented by patients regarding their accounts, insurance questions, etc.
- Processing disability, accident, etc. forms.
