About The Position
The Patient Access Coordinator for Obstetrics-HUC/Registration is responsible for obtaining and verifying comprehensive personal, demographic, and financial information from patients. This is crucial for ensuring high-quality patient care through accurate patient identification and maximizing reimbursement for all billable clinical services provided. The role also involves scanning identification documents into the OnBase system, securing EMTALA notification signatures, and alerting clinical staff when patients present in critical condition. Additionally, the coordinator is tasked with placing appropriate insurance information on the patient's account once verified.
Responsibilities
- Obtain and verify appropriate personal, demographic and financial information
- Ensure quality patient care through proper patient identification
- Ensure maximal reimbursement for all billable clinical services rendered
- Scan appropriate identification documents into OnBase
- Obtain EMTALA notification signature
- Notify clinical staff when patients present with critical condition
- Place appropriate insurance information on account once verified
