Patient Access Associate, Cardiology Diagnostic Center, $1000 Bonus, Full Time, shift varies
About The Position
The Patient Access Associate coordinates patient flow and timely processing, and maintains knowledge of and applies departmental, physician-practice, or hospital practices to address patient questions and concerns. The role requires knowledge of insurance requirements, Baptist Health South Florida pricing, financial assistance options, and Revenue Cycle operations. The associate provides professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients of all ages, families, employees, physicians, and community members in keeping with Baptist Health’s service-excellence philosophy. This is a full-time position at the Cardiology Diagnostic Center with a varying shift. The estimated pay range is $16.61–$21.09 per hour, depending on experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma, Certificate of Attendance, Certificate of Completion, GED, or equivalent training or experience.
- Complete and pass the Patient Access training course.
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and a team player, with compassion and excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Minimum required experience: less than one year.
Nice To Haves
- Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology.
- Experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Office and EMR applications, and accurate typing skills.
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines including HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, Medicare coverage structure, and medical necessity compliance guidelines.
- Bilingual English and Spanish or Creole.
