About The Position

The Pathways Training and Development Specialist, part of the Provider Assistance Training Hub (PATH) within the School of Social Work at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, is responsible for training community behavioral health staff and leadership on the Pathways to Success curriculum, Managing and Adapting Practice (MAP), and other HFS-directed clinical initiatives. This role also involves providing ongoing coaching and support for current and new initiatives, and serving as a Subject Matter Expert for New Service Initiatives and Systems of Care (SOC) curriculum. The position requires statewide travel to deliver web-based and on-site trainings, assess agency challenges, build implementation strategies, and support users of MAP. The specialist will also develop advanced trainings, provide feedback on new services, and analyze training effectiveness, all grounded in Systems of Care principles.

Requirements

Master’s degree in social work or related field from an accredited college or university.
One (1) - three (3) years of Behavioral Health Services (Clinical) experience.
LPHA status pursuant to 89 ILAC 140.453.
Illinois clinical licensure.
Self-motivated and able to work semi-independently to train peers in assessment and care planning.
Working knowledge of change management strategies, established training, coaching and transfer of learning methodologies, case study and clinical case presentation methodologies, established evidence-informed child behavioral health practices and clinical interventions, the impact of trauma on the child and family system, child and adolescent development, issues related to diagnosis and co-morbidity, and other behavioral health issues.

Nice To Haves

IM+CANS trainer level certification within 90 days of hire.
MAP Instructor credential within 90 days of hire.
SOC trainer certification within 120 days of hiring.
Experience working with CSPI, CANS, ANSA, FAST or TCOM.
Experience working in home and community settings providing clinical intervention.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver web-based and on-site trainings statewide for Intensive Home-Based service/program, Therapeutic Mentoring Service/program, integration of Managing and Adapting Practice (MAP) into Systems of Care work, newly launched Medicaid services, and the IM-CANS assessment and treatment planning tool.
Engage with Medicaid enrolled providers to assess agency-specific challenges and build strategies for effective implementation of services/programs and tools like Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA), Solution Focused Approaches, and MAP tools.
Assist in the development and support of MAP-supported users and MAP credentialed therapists.
Work in conjunction with the Clinical Quality Review team to identify and implement strategies to effectively support the implementation of the IHB and Therapeutic Mentoring service and curriculum.
Develop trainings on intermediate and advanced use of the functional behavioral analysis tool, solution focused approaches, and MAP tools and resources and their relevance to effective treatment planning for children and families.
Provide feedback to Pathways Clinical Coordinator and SOC Coordinator as Subject Matter Expert on new services, and IHB, Therapeutic Mentoring, and MAP implementation efforts to guide future curriculum development and statewide support strategies.
Perform other duties as assigned, which may include some analysis of training effectiveness.
Ensure training is based in Systems of Care (SoC) principles.
