Pathways Intern: National History Day Coordinator

About The Position

The National History Day (NHD) Coordinator will assist in planning for the National History Day Central Wisconsin Regional Competition which takes place around March each year. National History Day® (NHD) is a program that engages middle school and high school students in historical research and academic competition. The NHD Coordinator will work closely with office staff to coordinate all aspects of the event including following the lead up to event timeline, coordinating day-of competition schedule, outreach to area schools, volunteer recruitment, and utilizing National History Day software to set up online registration portal.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational and task management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office applications
  • Trustworthy, dependable, positive attitude
  • Creative problem solving and attention to detail
  • Time management skills and ability to work independently to meet deadlines
  • Must pass a Criminal Background Check
  • Must be a current undergraduate student
  • Maintain good academic standing and enrollment of at least 12 (or more) credits each semester during the internship period
  • Have a GPA of 2.5 or higher

Nice To Haves

  • Previous participant or volunteer experience in National History Day
  • Previous experience in an event coordinator (or similar) role
